Thank you to the current and retired PMCT members who volunteered at the Gigi’s Special Challenge on May 16th! It was a great event and we are so happy to have been a part of it! To recognize autism awareness month in April, PMCT also raised a total of $630 for Gigi’s Playhouse of Long Island and the Using Our Voices mental health run. Thank you to all members who donated towards these worthy causes!
In the month of February, PMCT held their annual hygiene drive. All items were donated to the Pat-Med Family Center. A huge thank you to Eagle Elementary School for running the diaper drive. They raised $150 for diapers and wipes for the family center! #PMCTGivesBack
PMCT held their annual Winter items collection drive in January! Several bags and boxes of hats, gloves, socks, and more were donated to the St. Francis Soup Kitchen and to the Patchogue-Medford Family Center. Thank you to all members who donated!
The PMCT sponsored the Kris Kringle event with the Patchogue Rotary club. This event will generously change the lives of at least 8 families within the Patchogue-Medford school district. For the past 20 years, their mission has been to help families overcome obstacles and get them back on their feet. The building representatives also held a 50/50 raffle yielding a donation to this cause. 🎄
On Sunday, December 7th, over 30 PMCT members volunteered their time helping at the Kiwanis Club toy trot at Shorefront Park. We also had several PMCT members participating in the run! It was a fantastic morning and we are so thankful for each of our PMCT members who were able to attend this worthy cause!
PMCT STRONG 💪🏼🎀 This Sunday, our PMCT members showed up to Jones Beach bright and early to participate in the Making Strides walk for breast cancer awareness! We had a great turnout for a great cause! Thank you to all who walked and/or donated! 🩷
PMCT teachers and TA’s wasted no time in giving back to the Pat-Med community! During their Superintendent’s Conference Day, members brought in food donations for PMCT’s annual Back-to-School Food Drive. These food items were donated to the guests at St. Francis soup kitchen and to the Pat-Med Family Center. Thank you so much to our generous members who always help give back!
At the start of the 25-26 school year, PMCT and the Lions Club donated 150 backpacks and filled them with supplies to ensure every student is prepared to learn! Thank you to the Lions Club for their generous backpack donation, and thank you to PMCT members for donating funds for the school supplies. Our students are going to have a great year! 🎒✏️📓📎🖍️

On Sunday, December 8, several PMCT members volunteered their time by serving refreshments at the Kiwanis 5K Toy Trot at Shorefront Park in Patchogue. Leading up to the toy drive, many members also donated toys for families in need this holiday season. Students who received the toys were extremely appreciative and even thanked members with cards!
This Thanksgiving season, the Patchogue-Medford Congress of Teachers, which includes all of the teachers, guidance counselors, psychologists, social workers, librarians, deans, department chairpersons, speech pathologists, and teaching assistants, worked together to provide for the families in need that we serve. We provided 25 turkeys and over $750 worth of canned and dry goods so that everyone was able to celebrate a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. In addition, many of our retired teachers returned to the Family Center to help stock the shelves, package the food, and distribute it to the families. Finally, we partnered with Eric Busto of Mutual Inc., who also donated 25 turkeys.
On Monday, November 24, PMCT held their annual Blood Drive at Oregon Middle School. In total, 31 pints of blood were collected at the drive! Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to donate that day!
On Saturday, October 5, PMCT participated in the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk in Riverhead. It was a beautiful day, and we were so happy to see so many PMCT members and their families at the event. We would like to thank everyone who donated to the cause. Our PMCT team raised over $5000 for the Making Strides of Eastern Long Island!
